On behalf of Katie and myself, I would like to welcome everyone to our 2nd Annual Prospect Steer and Heifer sale. Over the past few years we have worked hard to build a strong cow herd, these cows have been selected from some of Canada’s finest operations. Our goal with every cow purchased or maintained for replacement is to continue to produce quality calves that are not only stylish, but grow and yield.
We are extremely excited about our latest purchase Halls Crossing 454W. This bull which was raised by Hall’s Cattle Co. of Craven Sask, was named the 2009 Canadian Western Agribition Grand Champion Purebred Bull Calf. We used Crossing on a select group of cows this year and are anxiously awaiting his first calves next spring. Crossing will be returning this fall to Agribition as a yearling.
Most of  the calves this year are sired by our great herd bull Daines Sir Dr Seuss 30T. We bought Dr Seuss two years ago as one of the high selling bulls from the Daines sale. The Dr Seuss  calves are long bodied, thick topped, clean fronted and grow a pile of hair.
For any junior members looking to buy a heifer this fall, don’t miss this opportunity. Unlike many other prospect cattle sales ALL of our heifers are sold as percentage registered MaineTainer’s with the Canadian Maine Anjou Assoc. Your heifers are eligible for any MaineTainer show and more importantly you will have a registered female to build a herd around. Most of our Maintainer females are from purebred angus cows, we love our Angus x Maine crosses  and are confident you will see the value and love these calves as well.
We believe that everyone should give back to the organizations and events that create our future cattleman and women. We are proud to sponsor the Calgary Stampede Junior Steer Show class; which puts $1500.00 in the pockets of two deserving junior showmen. We believe our greatest contribution to youth development  is our clinics held here at the farm. These workshops include fitting, grooming, nutrition and livestock judging. We are both always honoured to be asked to judge so many shows each year and enjoy seeing the showman exhibit the animals they are so proud of.

This year we would like to welcome our guest consignors NuHaven Cattle Co. Last fall we had the opportunity to prepare  and present their animals at Agribition. We then worked with them to host the first annual Best Black Bulls in Canada Sale this spring. NuHaven is  one of Canada’s largest and oldest Maine Anjou herds and their support and confidence in us and our program is truly appreciated.
